The Ocean Scan website and mobile application is managed by Lobelia Earth S.L. and its partner Prototyp Stockholm AB.
Lobelia Earth S.L. registered office is at CL Congres n.49 08031, Barcelona, Spain.
Prototyp Barcelona registered office is at CL Gran de Gràcia n.47 08012, Barcelona, Spain.
The purpose of this privacy policy is to explain the processing and management of personal data acquired through the Ocean Scan website and mobile application.
Acceptance of Privacy Policy. When registering, contacting or uploading data on Ocean Scan website and/or the services connected, including the mobile application, the user declares having read and expressly accepted this Privacy Policy. The user authorizes the Ocean Scan team to use the data in accordance with the purposes and processing described in this Privacy Policy.
Data Collection
Data is collected during the registration process of the users, the dataset creation form and when requests related to Ocean Scan are received via contact form or personal email. It is the user ’s responsibility to provide personal data that is correct and adequate. Please notice that in case of dataset creation, it is the responsibility of the dataset’s author to verify before submitting them, that the information provided is agreed with the participants mentioned in the form, including personal data of participants themselves.
The following personal data are collected:
- First and Last name
- E-mail address
- IP address
- Current organization to which the user is affiliated or the current employer (company, association, university, etc.) and role
- The subject and content of your request if contacted via email
Use
The use and processing of personal data is purely used in the scope of Ocean Scan for (i) provide attribution of the work published in the website and (ii) provide anonymous analytics of platform usage to the European Space Agency (ESA), the funding entity of the project. In regards to credit attribution, unless otherwise expressly stated in a specific content or image, the use and reuse of contents is permitted according to the principles set out in the license CC-BY-4.0, where origin and authorship should be quoted.
Storage
Your personal data is stored in an Amazon Web server located in Ireland and protected by a password accessible only by selected Lobelia employees via website API. Most personal data is kept until requested to be removed.
Modification and removal of data
In accordance with applicable law, users can:
- Access, rectify or modify their personal data, upon request submitted via email
- Require the removal of personal data. Please notice that in case of datasets, if no alternative author is available for the dataset, the dataset itself will also be removed together with the associated author. For personal data submitted via Ocean Scan to Zenodo, the Zenodo privacy policy and responsibility applies.
- Request personal data in a structured, and commonly used machine-readable format.
- Request to limit the processing of personal data concerning your person within the limits permitted by law.
